Dose and Using Procedure

• Use a clean Drum or any plastic tank. Fill the water up to 190 Ltrs and add the RXSOL concentrated Bilge coat 2-4 Ltrs. Stirr well and now it is ready RXSOL BILGE COAT SOLUTION to use.

• Pour 15 to 20 litres of RXSOL BILGE COAT SOLUTION  directly into each hold sounding pipe from on deck.  Replenish each time after the bilge water is pumped out.

Pre wash :-
Before cleaning with RXSOL Tankclean ECO, it is necessary to prewash the tanks with hot or cold water, depending on the type of cargo.

Recirculation method ::: Refer Below.

Direct Injection:-
Inject 0.1 to 0.2 litres of Tankclean ECO per every 100 litres of water into the washing system.Maintain cleaning temperatures between 10-60 °C (depending on type of cargo).Cleaning time 2 to 6 hours, followed by thorough rinsing with fresh hot water.

Tankclean ECO effectively cleans vegetable, animals, and fats.  Tanks containing drying or semi-drying oils should be flushed or prewashed or moisten as soon as possible after completion of discharging to prevent the formation of hard tenacious residues.

Expert suggestion: To save tank cleaner,  strip all residue manually which will reduce the quantities and consumption of chemicals required. Never overheat the tank which may cause dryness of residue.

Spot cleaning after most CPP / hydrocarbons.

  1. Tank Cleaner Eco may be sprayed on the bulkhead neat or diluted, to areas where residues remain after tank washing, “Spot Cleaning”. A heated dilution is found to be very efficient.

  2. The product should be allowed to stand for 10-30 minutes prior to re-washing areas. Do not leave the product to dry on the bare coating.

 3. Clean areas by flushing manually with high pressure, using fresh water, or by performing a re-circulation. For persistent deposits, agitation by scrubbing will assist the cleaning operation. Heated water will increase the cleaning effect.

Spraying Method : It may be used neat or diluted by up to 50 parts of water, according to the amount and type soil to be removed For contamination, Aqua Wash Cleaner is sprayed on undiluted and left for 20 - 60 minutes. It must then be hosed off with a powerful waterjet, whilst brushing the surfaces.

Soak Method:-
It may be used concentrated or diluted with water, depending on the degree of contamination, the surface area to be treated, the desired degree of cleaning and the available downtime.Actually, the user is the best one capable to regulate the quantity and concentration to be used for the situation at hand.In any case, when the accumulation is not heavy, a 50% solution with water must be used. Otherwise,RXSOL-22-2201. can be used undiluted especially when deposition is heavy and hard spots persist.

Cleaning Procedure

Conventional cleaning methods such as a brush,hard sponge, thick and hard broom and /or a mop can be used on heavy duty and hard stain deposits.Note that for heavy accumulations the cleaning procedure might be necessary to be repeated until the results are satisfactory. Furthermore, is important to keep in mind that 1 litre of RXSOL-22-2201 is sufficient to cover a surface area of 8–10 square meters.

NOTE ::: -- Let this product soak into the surface for 30-45 minutes. Then using a high-powered spray washer blast the surfaces until the stains and discoloration is gone.

Note:-
• Cleaning time will vary depending on the extract nature and thickness of deposit to be removal.
• Stubborn deposits should be scrubbed to assist the cleaning operation.

RXSOL-22-2201 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 10-30%, depending on the extent of scaling. After using RXSOL-22-2201 it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of Alkalinity Control in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.

RXSOL PASSIVATION is highly conc and acidic product ,  It does not give Black or Yellow stain marks after washing with water. It simultaneously removes annealing colours, ferritic contamination & weld burns.
Spray is very safe & easy to use for cleaning of large equipments like S.S. vessels, dryers, agitators, dairy machinery, fermentators, internals as well as externals of pipes by pressurised spray bottle or pump. passivation proces improve the corrosion resistance of metal parts / surface.

Application: 

It is used to clean weld seams and surrounding areas with brush. It is used to remove heavy scales, discolouration, annealing colours, rust particles near weld and welding affected area by heat.

Circulation method : For closed system like PIPE , use concentrated materials atleast for 1-2 Hrs . Then FLUSH the system with TECHNICAL GRADE OF DI-WATER ( which is free from , all SOLUBLE IMPURITIES )

Spray Method : For TANK PASSIVATION , this is very effective method . Directly spray on wall of TANKS atleast for 10-15 Minutes , then wash the system with cupious amout of fresh water , finally use TECH GRADE DI water for complete wash.

 

Procedure of Passivation

1. Isolate the exchanger and set up a circuit with an external tank with heating coil inside and a pump to circulate cleaning solution.

FLUSHING:-

2. Flush the Exchanger with fresh water to remove loose material (like dirt etc.) till such time clear water comes.

INHIBITED ACID CLEANING:-

3. Circulate inhibited Acid (5-6 % Citric Acid and 1% Rodine 213) along with non ionic wetting agent like RXSOL-T300  through Exchanger Loop for 6 to 8 hours
4. It total iron concentration reaches 5000 - 8000 PPM and concentration below 2% acid percentage then dump the cleaning solution and repeat the cycle with fresh inhibited acid.
5. Samples to be tested for pH, TDS and iron on hourly basis.
6. Normal operating temperature should be 50-60º C.
7. When iron concentration and acid concentration of solution reaches steady state and cleaning in completed. Drain the cleaning solution.

NEUTRALIZING:-

8. Circulate 1-2% solution of soda Ash for one to two for neutralization.
9. Rinse the neutralizing solution with water till pH of Inlet and Outlet is same.

PASSIVATION:-

10. Immediately fill and Circulate with 1-3% of solution of sodium Hexametaphosphate for 4-6 hours keeping operating temperature around 50-60º C. Analyze for Phosphate levels in Inlet and Outlet. (Normally maintain 30-40 PPM O-PO4 level)
11. Drain the passive solution without flushing with water.

DRYING:-

12. Dry the circuit with dry air/N2.

Using Procedure: 

For Pickling This is probably the most commonly used method. Use a solution of nitric and hydrofluoric acids in water. We use ASTM A380, solution D. The formula is specified in A380 as 6 - 25% HNO3 and ½ - 8% HF in water at 70 -140 F (21 - 60 C) for about 30 minutes. This is a strong cleaning solution and may etch highly finished surfaces.

 

Coverage / kg : Approx. 100 meters of weld seam.

Why Passivation required ?

1. Stainless Steel owes  its corrosion resistance to the formation of a chromium oxide surface layer but this happened due to presence of oxygen , And if the oxide has been stripped, perhaps by pickling, then the oxide layer takes a short time to reach its full thickness and this can be accelerated by passivation.

2. The heat tint produced by welding is not only unsightly but the thicker oxide layer includes chromium from the surface of the metal, lowering its corrosion resistance. Pickling both removes the oxide layer causing the colour tints and a thin layer of the underlying metal to restore the original properties.

3. Iron Contamination
A major cause of corrosion in service is iron contamination which can arise from a variety of sources. These include using tools made of mild or constructional steels like fork lifts being a common cause for abrasives that contain iron and any tool that has previously been used on non stainless steel. Cross contamination can also arise from grindings and debris created whilst working close by on steel, either  in the workshop or on site. Iron contamination is not always obvious, if it is suspected it can be detected using the ASTM A380, ferroxyl test. This is a rapid test in which a solution turns blue in the presence of iron. Pickling is a very effective method of removing this iron contamination from the surface.

20-50% nitric acid, at room temperature to 40oC for 30-60 minutes.

• Grades with less than 16% chromium (except free machining grades such as 416):

20-50% nitric acid, at room temperature to 40oC for 60 minutes.

• Free machining grades such as 303, 416 and 430F:

20-50% nitric acid + 2-6% sodium dichromate, at room temperature to 50oC for 25 40 minutes

Using Procedure: 

Dilute concentrated cleaner with warm water using 1 part Heavy Duty Alkaline Cleaner and 1 part water. 

Apply mixed solution with a mop, sponge or sprayer. Avoid applying cleaner on unintended surfaces.

Lightly rub with a scrub brush or floor machine as needed. Allow cleaner for emulsification 1 to15 minutes for best results— do not allow to dry on the surface.

Remove solution using a sponge, wet/dry vacuum or damp mop.

Rinse the area well with clean water. 

TYPICAL METHOD::: Dilute to proper ratio for the desired task, apply to surface and allow adequate contact time, wipe or rinse away. 
Can be Use dilution of 1:100: 11.0 - 11.5 (1:100). 

 

GENERALLY ::: In an aqueous solution, at a concentration from 10 ml to 200 ml per liter of water, depending on the degree of contamination. 

For Boiler Cleaning :::

5 Ltr is sufficient for 1000 LTRS OF WATER.

The boiler should be warmed through by a slow fire, keeping the manhole closed, immediately after adding the chemical and pressure allowed to rise slowly. It should be raised sufficiently to
give a strong blow of steam at the air cocks. It should be allowed to cool and later blown down for about 15 seconds on each blow-down valve and refilled to about 5 cm level in the gauge glass. On the following day, carry out the same process except that the pressure is raised to approx 25 percent of the normal working pressure. On the third day, carry out the same process and then drain the boiler as detailed below –
When the pressure falls to 0.04 MN/m2 (0.4 kgf/cm2), the unit is blown down completely until it is empty, refilled to flood the drum and superheater and blown down again. It should then be carefully inspected. If any trace of oil or grease is observed, the process of boiling-out should be repeated. If the boiler is found free from grease or oil or sediment, it should be closed and filled with feed water as specified by the manufacturer.
