This antifoam compound are targeted for gas recovery plants, where natural gas must be washed, or scrubbed, before distribution, and for liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants that must achieve high gas purity before liquefaction.

In many amine units, foam can be problematic. Proper line control without antifoam is, generally, extremely difficult.

General-purpose antifoams have a wide range of applicability, but not all of them are suitable for use in the treatment of gas. Some foam control agents can aggravate the problem. Foam control in gas scrubbers is only one of the process parameters to be monitored. It is equally important to prevent or slow the fouling of the unit, because dismantling of the gas-scrubbing units is manually intensive. Incorrectly specified antifoams can easily lead to increased fouling and clogging, particularly in the heat exchangers.   • Excellent antifoarn stability and durability - over a period of time the concentration of salts in an amine or glycol dehydration unit can reach high levels. RXSOL-40-2066-025 antifoam emulsion and its more concentrated version, are easily dispersed in water and are compatible with glycols, they do not allow the presence of these glycols to easily remove water from their state of emulsion, thus remaining effective for a longer period.
  • Excellent stability at high temperatures - because of their excellent dispersibility. RXSOL-40-2066-025 antifoam emulsion do not show a propensity to deposit on heat exchangers as many other antifoams tend to. Instead, they remain finely dispersed in the amine or glycol solution and are eventually filtered out.
  • Easy dilution and use - simple addition of water and minimum agitation is sufficient to dilute RXSOL-40-2066-025 antifoam emulsion to required concentrations. Pumping of the diluted emulsions is easy, due to their low viscosity.
  • Reduced clogging or scaling in the heat exchangers - potentially resulting in less service maintenance.
  • Low concentrations can provide effective foam control - RXSOL-40-2066-025 antifoam emulsion and often two to three times more effective than other antifoams used in gas treating units.

Using Procedure: 

The incoming water passes over a series of SPECIALIZED RESIN BEADS which remove mineral ions and other impurities from the water. Regeneration of ion exchangers

An important application of high-quality hydrochloric acid is the regeneration of ion exchange resins. Cation exchange is widely used to remove ions such as Na+ and Ca2+ from aqueous solutions, producing demineralized water.

Ion exchangers and demineralized water are used in all chemical industries, drinking water production, and many food industries.

pH Control and neutralization

A very common application of Hydrochloric acid is to regulate the basicity (pH) of solutions.

In industry demanding purity (food, pharmaceutical, drinking water), high-quality Muriatic acid is used to control the pH of process water streams. In less-demanding industry, technical-quality hydrochloric acid suffices for neutralizing waste streams and swimming pool treatment.

Pickling of steel

Pickling is an essential step in metal surface treatment, to remove rust or iron oxide scale from iron or steel before subsequent processing, such as extrusion, rolling, galvanizing, and other techniques. Technical-quality HCl at typically 18% concentration is the most commonly-used pickling agent for the pickling of carbon steel grades.

The spent acid has long been re-used as ferrous chloride solutions, but high heavy-metal levels in the pickling liquor has decreased this practice.

In recent years, the steel pickling industry has, however, developed hydrochloric acid regeneration processes, such as the spray roaster or the fluidized bed HCl regeneration process, which allow the recovery of HCl from spent pickling liquor. The most common regeneration process is the pyrohydrolysis process, applying the following formula:

4 FeCl2 + 4 H2O + O2 8 HCl+ 2 Fe2O3

By recuperation of the spent acid, a closed acid loop is established. The ferric oxide by product of the regeneration process is a valuable by-product, used in a variety of secondary industries.

Hydrochloric Acid is not a common pickling agent for stainless steel grades.

Production of inorganic compounds

Numerous products can be produced with hydrochloric acid in normal acid-base reactions, resulting in inorganic compounds. These include water treatment chemicals such as iron(III) chloride and polyaluminium chloride (PAC).

Both iron(III) chloride and PAC are used as flocculation and coagulation agents in wastewater treatment, drinking water production, and paper production.

Other inorganic compounds produced with hydrochloric acid include road application salt calcium chloride, nickel(II) chloride for electroplating, and zinc chloride for the galvanizing industry and battery production.

Production of organic compounds

The largest Hydrochloric acid consumption is in the production of organic compounds such as vinyl chloride for PVC, and MDI and TDI for polyurethane. This is often captive use, consuming locally-produced Muriatic acid that never actually reaches the open market. Other organic compounds produced with Muriatic acid include bisphenol A for polycarbonate, activated carbon, and ascorbic acid, as well as numerous pharmaceutical products.

Domestic and Industrial as cleaning Compound :

Hydrochloric acid is a fundamental chemical, and as such it is used for a large number of small-scale applications, such as leather processing, household cleaning, and building construction. In addition, a way of stimulating oil production is by injecting Hydrochloric acid into the rock formation of an oil well, dissolving a portion of the rock, and creating a large-pore structure. Oil-well acidizing is a common process in the North Sea oil production industry.

Many chemical reactions involving Hydrochloric acid are applied in the production of food, food ingredients, and food additives. Typical products include aspartame, fructose, citric acid, lysine, hydrolyzed (vegetable) protein as food enhancer, and in gelatin production. Food-grade (extra-pure) Muriatic acid can be applied when needed for the final product.

Iron stains can be removed by scrubbing the stained area with an aqueous solution of oxalic acid in water. Dissolve 1 Ltr oxalic acid Liquid to 2Lt of warm water. Scrub stained area using a stiff-bristle brush. Thoroughly rinse with water after treatment. When completely dry, lightly sand the surface. Surface must be clean and
completely dry (not just surface dry) before refinishing. Incomplete drying and retained subsurface moisture can cause finish adhesion failure.

Usage Guideline

Corrosion-Inhibiting System: In order to control corrosion in reinforced concrete, the ACI 318 (ACI 318M) Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary requires certain design considerations, such as limiting the water-cementitious materials ratio, providing adequate concrete cover over reinforcing steel and limiting the initial chloride ion content of the concrete. Additionally, construction practices should be such that a dense, void-free concrete is
obtained.

In addition to the elements of good concrete practice required by the ACI 318 (ACI 318M), RXSOL  recommends a corrosion-inhibiting system that inhibits corrosion at multiple levels for maximum protection. The use of MasterLife RXSOL CIA 222 admixture restricts the ingress of chlorides and moisture and additionally slows the onset and rate of corrosion by forming a protective film on the reinforcing steel. Additional protection can be attained through the use of a high-range water-reducing admixture such as  RXSOL admixture to provide adequate placability and consolidation at low water-cementitious materials ratios and/or the use of silica fume to further reduce concrete permeability.

Dosage:

 RXSOL CIA  222 admixture is recommended for use at a dosage of 1 gal/yd3 (5 L/m3) of concrete for all applications and corrosive environments. RXSOL CIA  222 admixture dosed at 1 gal/yd3 (5 L/m3) is formulated to provide optimum corrosion protection of reinforced concrete structures in severe corrosive environments, and, therefore provides excellent corrosion protection in less severe corrosion environments as well. RXSOL CIA  222 admixture is recommended for use at a single dosage in order to eliminate the confusion and uncertainties related to determining the severity of a corrosive environment and predicting the chloride exposure of the structure. Mixing: RXSOL CIA  222  admixture may be added with concrete batch water. It should not be mixed with any other admixtures prior to being introduced into the concrete mixer. Depending on local materials, mixing efficiency and other conditions, the use of this admixture may require changes in normal batching procedures to facilitate air entrainment.

Storage and Handling

Storage Temperature: Store at ambient temperatures above 35 °F (2 °C) but not exceeding 125 °F (52 °C). Precautions should be taken to protect RXSOL CIA 222 from freezing. If product freezes, thaw and reconstitute by mild mechanical agitation. Do not use pressurized air for agitation.

Total of 80 / 118 carboys i.e. 17.6 MT /17.7 MT can be shipped either palletized or non-palletized in 20 ft. full container load. It can also be shipped in IBC of 1 MT capacity and ISO containers with capacity of 22 to24 MT.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

Store in a clean, dry area, away from sunlight and heat. The recommended storage temperature is 20°C – 35 °C. Keep carboys tightly closed. In the original sealed carboys and kept at recommended storage conditions, the product can be stored for at least 1 year. Spills should be contained / collected and disposed off as per the regulations. Avoid ingestion and contact with eyes, skin and clothing. In case of contact with eyes and skin, seek adequate and timely medical attention. Stacking should be maximum 1+1 carboys.
