Manganese(II) chloride tetrahydrate is a hydrate that is the tetrahydrate form of manganese(II) chloride. It has a role as a nutraceutical and a MRI contrast agent. It is a hydrate, an inorganic chloride and a manganese coordination entity. Manganese 0.1 mg/mL (Manganese Chloride Injection, USP) is indicated for use as a supplement to intravenous solutions given for TPN. Administration helps to maintain manganese serum levels and to prevent depletion of endogenous stores and subsequent deficiency symptoms.
Skin Harmful if absorbed through skin. May cause skin irritation. Eyes May cause eye irritation. Harmful if swallowed.
