Aqueous solution of phenol is weakly acidic and turns blue litmus slightly to red. Phenol is easily neutralized by sodium hydroxide forming sodium phenate or phenolate, but it being weaker than carbonic acid cannot be neutralized by sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate to liberate carbon dioxide

What is the use of Phenol Liquid? 
 
Phenol liquid is used to disinfect skin as well as relieve itching. It is functional as an anesthetic and oral analgesic in several products. This is used for surgical ingrown toenail treatment, the process of which is known as phenolization. 
 
What is the acidity of Phenols? 
 
It makes reaction with several active metals such as potassium, sodium etc. It is highly acidic in nature and extremely functional in the electron-withdrawing group. The acidity of the chemical can make reduction in electron density on oxygen. 
 
What is the other name of liquid phenol? 
 
The chemical formula of the liquid phenol is C6H6O. It is also popular as Carbolic acid. It belongs to a phenyl group and hydroxyl group which are interrelated to each other. 
 
How does liquid phenol smell?

TIME OF APPLICATION-

RECOMMENDED USAGE- for Agriculture
For spraying, the recommended usage is 2% weight by volume. 
Use 5–10 kg/acre for solid application.
HOW TO USE-
 
Spray it directly onto the soil early in the morning or late in the evening.
