Sodium Benzoate Food Grade prohibit growth of fungi and preserves food due to anti-fungal properties. Sodium Benzoate Food Grade can be used in pickles, sauces, jams and fruit juices. Foods that contain vinegar, such as salad dressings etc.

Most commonly Sodium Benzoate Food Grade used as  antifungal food preservative. Sodium Benzoate Food Grade prevent the growth of bacteria, yeast, or other nasty microorganisms that could spoil food.
Sodium benzoate Food Grade also commonly used as a preservative in cosmetics and personal care items, such as hair products, baby wipes, toothpaste, and mouthwash .
It also has industrial uses. One of its biggest applications is to deter corrosion, such as in coolants for car engines.
What’s more, it may be used as a stabilizer in photo processing and to improve the strength of some types of plastic .

Sodium Benzoate Food Grade Enhances flavour / taste of Acidic Food, But always remeber never use Sodium Benzoate Food Grade with Vitamin C( Ascorbic Acid )  as it forms benzene which is a carcinogen.

Sodium benzoate is most suitable for use as an antimicrobial agent in foods and beverages which naturally are in the pH range below 4.5, or can be brought into the range by addition of a water soluble acidulant. Sodium benzoate is not recommended as a preservative at pH ranges higher than 4.5.
