Replacement of the commonly used sodium acetate with caesium acetate has been shown to improve yields by up to 10 times.

Using Procedure:
commercially available. Cesium acetate has been prepared by stirring a solution of cesium carbonate in dry methanol, followed by the addition of acetic acid. Methanol was removed after 1 h under reduced pressure to yield the desired product as a white solid
Note:
This is not so much due its molar solubility (only 5.26 M) but more due to its high molar weight. Caesium acetate is occasionally used instead of caesium formate in petroleum drilling fluids
